Nelum Pokuna
The Nelum Pokuna is also known as lotus pond Is a performing arts center in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The theater is equipped with ultra modern facilities such as an auditorium with 1,288 seats, a library, and training facilities. The building features two permanent theaters the main auditorium and an open-air theater and the ability to convert the front steps into an additional open-air theater. Parking for 500 vehicles, is also available.




National Art Gallery
The National Art Gallery, the three wing gallery space is situated next to the National Museum. The main gallery has a permanent collection of portraits and landscapes. The other two wings have a change of temporary exhibitions by Sri Lankan artists.

 Viharamahadevi park

The Viharamahadevi Park is a public park located in Colombo, next to the National Museum in Sri Lanka. It is the oldest and largest park of the Port of Colombo. Situated in front of the colonial-style Town Hall building.

 
 
 Diyatha Uyana Park
 
The Diyatha Uyana Park built in the banks of the Diyawanna Oya was opened in September 2012. Since its inception it has succeeded in attracting people from all walks of life from all over the country apart from those living in the vicinity. If you go Diyatha uyana don't forget the 3D photos.

Colombo Waterfalls

There are four waterfalls in Colombo district.

  • Dambora Falls
  • Ella Uda Falls
  • Kumari Falls
  • Thummodara Ranmudu Falls 

Dambora Falls
Dambora Falls is located near Labugama Reservoir in the village of Dambora (Hanwella Divisional Secretariat), Colombo District (Avissawella Electorate).
 
Ella Uda Falls
The Ella Uda Falls is located in the Colombo District, Avissawella Electorate at Hanwella. To reach it, take the Hanwella road and turn off near the Thummodara Old Bridge, then continue for a further 10km to the Illuovita area.


Kumari Falls

It is only 4m in height. The two streams from Pittukande Moutnain and Dukkalahelena Mountain meet with two other streams, one from Hewahinda and one from Illukovil, at the Puwakpitiya Aman Oya (river). 



Thummodara Ranmudu Falls

The 15m fall is situated in a tributary of the Wakganga River, and the waters feed the Kelani River.It can be found 48km from Colombo, in the Colombo District Hanwella PC.

Colombo National Museum

Department of National Museums, Cinnamon Gardens, Colombo 7. Tel: 11 269-4767. Closed Fridays and all public holidays. 9AM-5PM. Also known as the Sri Lanka National Museum, it is the largest museum in Colombo. Among its exhibits, it contains regalia of the 17th century Kandyan Kings.



Dutch Museum

95 Prince Street, Pettah, Colombo 11. Tel: 11 244-8466. Closed Fridays and all public holidays. 9AM-5PM. Historical museum documenting Dutch colonial rule in Sri Lanka. Houses Dutch-inspired artifacts.


National History Museum

Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha, Cinnamon Gardens, Colombo 7. Tel: 11 269-1399. Closed Fridays and all public holidays. 9AM-5PM. This museum features Sri Lanka's floral and fauna in dioramas.
 
Air force museum
